NWS Holdings and New World First Ferry win three Gold Awards in government Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme

NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS Holdings” or the “Group”; Hong Kong stock code: 659) and its member company, New World First Ferry Services Limited (“NWFF”), today garnered three Gold Awards and a Silver Award in the third annual Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme, recognising the Group’s concerted effort to contribute to a caring and inclusive society by making information on its websites and mobile apps accessible to all.

The website of NWS Holdings Charities Foundation www.nwsfoundation.com.hk/eng won Gold for the second consecutive year. The Group also garnered a Silver Award for its new Sustainability website sr.nws.com.hk launched late last year, which reflects the Group’s commitment to transparency and barrier-free communication with stakeholders.

Gold Awards also went to NWFF’s website www.nwff.com.hk and its mobile app (both iOS and Android Platforms) for enhanced accessible features including colour contrast, audio descriptions of images and PDF files and improved browsing functions of departure time, fare and other ferry service information.

The Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme, jointly run by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (“OGCIO”) and the Equal Opportunities Commission since 2013, promotes accessible digital design to improve access to information for people who might otherwise have difficulties. Over 200 corporations and organisations participated in this year’s scheme. Please visit the OGCIO’s website:
