In recent years, the Group has introduced various family-friendly measures, including flexible working hours, family care leave and education sponsorship schemes for employees’ children. A diverse range of activities, such as the annual Group Fun Day and Family Open Day, were held to encourage family bonding among staff. To keep up with the digital trends, an internal social networking site, i.World, was launched to encourage sharing and collaboration. The Group has also set up Outstanding Employee Awards to recognise exceptional contributions and performance, as well as initiatives that promote corporate culture.
Intrapreneurship and UNITI Circle
The Group inspires and engages staff members with corporate core values UNITI and intrapreneurship, making them feel part of the New World Development family. Under the UNITI Circle programme, staff work together in teams for solutions to take things to the next level. Outstanding proposals are adopted and recognised.
Group Management Trainee Programme and Partnering with HKU
The Group has been allocating significant resources to groom staff in innovative ways. Founded three years ago, the New World University supports the Group’s competence development in a proactive approach with an international perspective. Other initiatives include the Group Management Trainee Programme introduced in 2011 and the New World Talent Facebook page which keeps candidates informed of the Group’s recruitment information. For the first time, the Group has partnered with the University of Hong Kong (HKU) to establish the HKU-New World Group Business Elite Students (BEST) Programme this year to offer university students insights into managing a conglomerate, while attracting high-calibre candidates. The Group has also extended recruitment to overseas to cope with its international business strategy.
