New World Development Holds Fair Trade Birthday Party in Full Support of Fair Trade Fortnight 2013

New World Development Company Limited ("the Group;" Stock Code: 17.HK) fully supports Fair Trade Fortnight 2013, organised by Fair Trade Hong Kong. In addition to sponsoring venues, the Group also held a fair trade birthday party for staff to avidly promote fair trade.

In support of Fair Trade Fortnight 2013, the Group threw a fair trade birthday party for staff members whose birthday is in May. Staff members helped themselves to delicious fair trade food products such as organic coffee, tea and jam. To encourage staff members to support fair trade and enhance their knowledge of fair trade, a question-and-answer game about fair trade was played.

The Group's Discovery Park - Shopping Centre was the venue sponsor of the kickoff ceremony of Fair Trade Fortnight 2013 and Fair Trade Fortnight 2013 Fair which was officiated by Ms Florence Hui, SBS, JP, Undersecretary for Home Affairs, Dr Alex Chan, Chairperson of the Fair Trade Hong Kong Foundation, Mr Patrick Wong, Convener of Fair Trade Fortnight 2013 and Mr Anthony Wong, Fair Trade Ambassador. From 11 to 17 May 2013 Fair Trade Hong Kong held Fair Trade Fortnight 2013 Fair at the mall which sold the latest fair trade products. To help Hong Kongers understand more about the fair trade movement's progress in Taiwan and South Korea, an exhibition on fair trade products in Asia was held. Activities such as performances from social enterprises, sharing about fair trade and workshops were also held to encourage Hong Kongers to factor fair trade into their lives.
