New World Group has been placing great emphasis on the nurturing of local young
people and actively supporting the all-round development of them. In 2007, the Group
launched "New World Young Leaders" which promotes the exchange and integration
of young people, and nurtures future leaders in Hong Kong and China.
In addition, NWD has established awards to support the academic research conducted
by ethnic Chinese around the world and offered opportunities of training and artistic
creation for young people, enabling them to develop their professionalism to contribute
to the society.

New World Mathematics Awards
To encourage academic breakthrough of young university students, New World Group fully supports the establishment of the "New World Mathematics Awards", which is organized by The International Congress of Chinese Mathematicians ("ICCM"), and supported by New World Development Company Limited and China Young Leaders Foundation. The Award aims at encouraging outstanding mathematics students, including undergraduate, master and PhD students, of Chinese descendant in their pursuit of mathematical truth.
The second "New World Mathematics Awards" Presentation Ceremony was held successfully in Beijing on 17 December 2010. Witnessed by over 200 international Mathematicians, teachers and students of Tsinghua University, over 30 outstanding young Chinese undergraduates, postgraduates and PhD Mathematics students were awarded. The first "New World Mathematics Awards" was presented in Hangzhou, China on 17 December 2007.

"Warmth Delivery" activity
New World Group always cares for the community and the elderly, committed to fulfilling social responsibility by all means. As a responsible corporate citizen, the Group established "Road to Green – Striving for a Young New World" Social Enterprise ("Road to Green") with Tuen Mun Youths Association in 2008 with major business of collecting used clothes from the public. On-job trainings and volunteering opportunities were provided to the trainees of Road to Green regularly.
Since 2008, the Group organized "Warmth Delivery" activity with Road to Green for three consecutive years, showing our care to the elderly. On 4th December 2010, volunteers of New World Group and trainees of Road to Green visited Wing On Home for the aged in Kwai Chung. Apart from doing stretching exercises and playing mini games with the elderly, winter clothes, vacuum mug and gift cards were offered to the elderly as gifts, sending warmth and blessings to the elders in winter time.
As part of the warmth delivery activity, the Group invited its staff members to donate warm clothing such as woolen knitwear, scarves, and thick jackets since 2008, in which the selected clothing were donated to the elderly living in Tin Yuet Estate in Tin Shui Wai, Lei Muk Shue Estate in Tsuen Wan, Tai Hing Estate in Tuen Mun and Wing On Home for the aged in Kwai Chung. The Group hopes to express love and care to the elderly in the community.

Inner Challenge
In 2010, the Group has formed a team of four staff members to participate in "Inner Challenge" organized by Breakthrough Limited for the second consecutive year. The team completed the 15-km challenge successfully with joy and team spirit.
"Inner Challenge" is an annual fund-raising event of Breakthrough. The Group has supported this for two consecutive years, with an aim to raise the public awareness towards youth development activities and demonstrate to the youngsters the importance of cooperation and persistence.

Model G20 Summit
New World Group is committed to encouraging exchange between youths in Mainland China and Hong Kong, creating a platform for students to discuss international affairs. The Group fully supports Roundtable Community to organize the Model G20 Summit ("Summit"), training participants' critical thinking and leadership skills and increasing their awareness of global issues through several conferences and diplomatic activities. Participants of the "Fair trade and protectionism" themed three-day Summit were required to participate in the conference on behalf of a G20 member and a declaration was drawn up at the end of the Summit. Awards were presented to the best delegation and the team with the best performance as a token of appreciation.
